Since 21 April last 12 months' pay has been issued to the
Royal Regiment and Horse Guards, and 15 months' pay to
the rest of the army. Commanding officers to certify within
a month whether this has been paid, as complaints have
been made on the matter. This to be printed and posted up
in all garrisons.

The commissioned officers of 1649 have offered to assign
to the King one half of the sum of £100,000 on condition of
prompt payment of the remainder. Those of them who have
not yet agreed are asked to fall in with it and sign the con¬
ditions. John Champante, Deputy Receiver-General, and
Thomas Taylor, Comptroller, to receive subscriptions. The
money will be paid within six months.
