Ireland. As to the election of a Representative Temporal
Peer in place of the Earl of Westmeath (deceased).
21 January. Convention between Great Britain and
Russia regarding the Slave Trade. [Signed at Vienna.]
22 January. Treaty between Great Britain and
Portugal regarding the most effectual means for
bringing about a gradual abolition of the Slave Trade.
