HYMNS.
[PART
94.
Room at tie. Gospel Feast. Luke xiv. 22-
Not paradise with all its joys ,
Could such delight afford.
2 Pardon and peace to dying men.
And endless life are giv’n ;
Thro’ the rich blood that Jesus shed
To raise the soul to heav’n.
3 Ye hungry poor, that long have stray’d
In sin’s dark mazes, come ;
Come, from your most obscure retreats.
And grace shall find you room.
4 Millions of souls, in glory now.
Were fed, and feasted here ;
And millions more, still on the way.
Around the board appear.
5 Yet is his house and heart so large.
That millions more may come ;
Nor could the whole assembled world
G’er-fill the spacious room.
6 All things are ready; come away,
Nor weak excuses frame;
Crowd to your places at the feast.
And bless the Founder’s name.
95.
The Poor invited to it.
Luke xiv. 13.
1 npiIF. King has made a feast
Where choice with plenty vies ;
’Tis furnish’d with the best
His rich domain supplies.
Its varied store—is for the poor.
