letture,
And refine on the rules of old archite&ure;
High honour to mafons the craft daily brings,
To thofe brothers of princes, and fellows of kings.
We drove the rude VandaJs and Goths off the
ftage,
And reviv’d the old arts of Augujlus' fam’d age ;
Vefpajian deftroy’d the vail temple in vain,
Since fo many now rile under great Leven's reign.
The noble five orders, compos’d with fuch art.
Shall amaze the fwift eye, and engage the whole
heart:
Proportion, fweet harmony, gracing the whole.
Gives our work, like die glorious creation, a
foul.
