7S REDUCTION OF DECIMALS.
II. To reduce a decimal of a superior denomination to its ®d|
lue in the viferior ones.
Rule.
Multiply the given decimal by such a number as will r«
duce it to the next inferior name, and point off in the pr<
duct as many places of decimals as are in the given nun
her ; then reduce these in the same manner to the next name
and so continue the reduction to the lowest name require*
or till the decimals pointed off be all ciphers ; then tli
numbers on the left of the points will express the value *
the decimal.
