an uair a bheachdaicheas: b eachdaicheas is itself the
relative form of the verb, and strictly requires no a

agus.
sdr-bhdird: sdr, excellent, always before its noun; so
deagh, good; droch, bad. Some other adjectives,
but only monosyllables, may be prefixed, of which
sean is the commonest. All prefixed adjectives
aspirate the noun qualified, if it admits of aspira¬
tion.
a bha dearbhadh . . . supply ag; after the verbal
noun dearbhadh we should have had gen. fiugh-
antais, were it not that the gen. birlinne depends
on ' 'ihantas itself. Such is the custom of modern
