G-aelic-speaking Charges, and to Branches in
these districts urging them to try and arrange
a Gaelic service at least monthly where no
such services are regularly held at present.
The Minute was approved on the motion,
of Mr. Donald MacDonald, Convener.
It was agreed not to hold the customary
January meeting, and the date of the Gaelic
Meeting Was fixed for 9th April, 1943.
The President, Rev. Malcolm MacLeod, was

Catherine McCaig Trust, for a further period
of five years.
Letter was read from the Secretary of the
Oban Branch complaining of the discourtesy
shown to the Branch by the B.B.C. in connection
with a broadcast Gaelic Ceilidh in Oban. The
letter asked Headquarters to forward a resolu¬
tion to this effect to the B.B.C.
Mr. Hugh MacPhee and Mr. Donald
Thomson explained the mode of procedure.
The Executive Council deprecated the action
of the Oban Branch in communicating to the
press the nature of the resolution, before it
had been considered by the Council, and decided
to take no further action.
On the motion of Dr. Cameron, it was decided
to write to the B.B.C., and express to them An
Comunn’s appreciation of what the Gaelic
section is doing in these difficult times.

appointed to the vacancy on the Executive
Council caused by the death of Professor James
C. Watson.

appointed to succeed the late Mr. Murdo
MacRae on the Council.
Mr. Hugh MacPhee brought to the notice of
the Meeting the desirability of re-arranging
the National Mod programme. It was decided
to include this matter in the remit made to the
special Committee dealing with the general
organisation of An Comunn. Mr. MacPhee
and Mr. Maclndeor were added to this
Committee.
Mr. Charles Davidson, Aberdeen Branch,
asked if An Comunn would take any action
regarding the purchasing of Highland Estates
by English Companies. It was pointed out
that the matter was outwith the scope of the
Constitution of An Comunn.
A vote of thanks to the Chairman brought the
meeting to a close.

PROPAGANDA NOTES.
By the death of Miss Earquharson of
Invercauld who died at Coignashee, Newton¬
more, recently, the Gaelic cause in the North
and especially in Badenoch, has suffered a
severe blow. It was mainly due to her keen
interest and driving power that the Badenoch
Strathspey area organised its Provincial Mods
year after year. But her own Branch (as she
called it) Newtonmore, at all times found in her
a real leader, and she was never happier than
when presiding at the Branch Ceilidhs.
At the funeral service at Coignashee, the
Executive Council of An Comunn was
represented by Mr. Donald MacDonald, Vice-
President, and by Mr. Donald Macphail,
Northern Organiser, and the Newtonmore
Branch by Mr. J. M. Munro, Hon. Secretary.
