DescriptionAn Italian manuscript containing Honorius's work 'Imago mundi' (f. 1), here entitled 'Mappa mundi' and attributed to Isidore of Seville; 'Speculum regum' by Godfrey of Viterbo (f. 23 verso), containing the preface, list of chapters and list of popes, but not the poem itself; an anonymous poem entitled 'De laude civitatis Laudae' (f. 38). Written in an Italian littera textualis formata by one scribe throughout. Rubrics and initials in red, with decorative penwork. In the lower margins of folios 3 verso-4 are two maps of the world in green.

Medieval and early modern manuscripts
DescriptionA selection of over 200 volumes of medieval and early modern manuscripts, dating from the 9th to the 17th century. Some of Scotland's most important early manuscripts are included in the many Scottish volumes. These are complemented by interesting and significant works of international origin, including volumes from France, England, the Low Countries, Italy and a number of other countries. Most of the manuscripts were collected by the Advocates Library, the forerunner of the National Library of Scotland.
