Anointing of Christ's Body (miniature)
Full-page miniature of the Anointing of Christ's Body (John 19.38-42). The unconscious guards leaning against the tomb belong to a later stage of the story, that of the Resurrection of Christ (cf. Matthew 28.2-4). There are traces of two erased post-Reformation captions beneath the picture. The lower one is still partly legible and reads: 'the sould[.]r [-] aslip'.
