Description | A set of 42 volumes of 'The British Poets' series bound in dark red morocco leather by James Scott of Edinburgh, sometime around 1776. Scott was one of the finest bookbinders working in 18th-century Britain. The bindings of each volume have been digitised to show the tools he used. Published in 1773, the 'British Poets' series consists of selected key poetical works written in the 17th and 18th centuries. |
