Taxman, kindlie Tenant and Possessor of the Lands of Thrum-
buster Suartagill, Raggras, Tarras &c. now pertaining heritably
to Laurence Lord Oliphant within the Bounds of Caithnes to
Laurence Oliphant Oy to the sd William Oliphant of New-
toun, in which Bond the said Earle obliges himself to make
void, emty and remove any Tenants or Possessors of the
Lands of Thrumbulster &c. and enter the said Laurence to the
Possession of them to be bruiked in all Time coming as they
were bruiked by the said umquhil William his Grandfather
Years before the Decease of G. Earle of Caithnes
Grandfather to the sd present Earle. Given Anno . 1601.
INSTRUMENT OF REQUISITION from Sir James Scot of Balwerie
for the Sum of a Thousand Mercks by Laurence Oliphant
eldest lawfull Son to umquhil Laurence Oliphant of Thrum-
bulster mentioning that the said 1000 M. was resting by
Virtue of a Contract betwixt the sd Sir Ja. Scot as Prin-
cipal and Jo. Seton of Pitlochie as Cautioner, and the sd
