GENERAL RETOUR Patrick Lord Oliphant to Charles Lord

CHARTER to William Oliphant and Christian Sutherland his
Spouse of that Parte of the Lands and Barrony of Strabrock
pertaining to the said Christian with the Advocat. and Donat.
of the Kirk of Strabrok (in Linlithgow Shire) proceed. upon
her Resign. to them
                     the Heirs to be gotten betwixt
them, quhilk failzian, to her Heirs, with the Liberty of a
Barrony. Giv. at Striv. the 21st of Octr (from the Registers
of Chart. at Edr Anno .

THE First mentioned of the Oliphants of Duffhous is in a
Bond of Man Rent granted by Lucas Bruce of Colpmalundie
to Laurence Lord Oliphant, dated at Duplin the 7th of July, in
which William Oliphant of Duffhous is a Witness. 1495

OBLIGEMENT Laurence Lord Oliphant to Andrew Oliphant
of Berradaile his dearest Cousing for sa mikle as the said
Androw had disponed to the said Lord by his Charter and
Bailiary all his Lands within Caithnes and Sherriffdom of
Invernes and hail his Lands of Strabrok in Linlithgow Shire
to marry all the Daughters gotten or to be goten lawfully of
the said Androw upon landed Men, and outaur to take and
hold in honest Household Laurence Oliphant Brother to the
said Androw with an honest Servant Man with him, and, if he
pleased not to remain with him, the said Lord was to give
him Yearly Twenty L. Scots the penult Day of March. 1526.

IN the Earle of Buchan's Hands a Disposition by Androw
Oliphant of Berrydail as heir to George Oliphant his Brother
of the Lands of
                to Laurence Lord Oliphant. 1520.

AN other of the same Nature and Date.

NOTE. This Androw and Laurence his Brother were Cousin
Germans to this Laurence Lord Oliphant.

SUBMISSION betwixt William Sutherland of Duffhous on the
One Part and Christian Sutherland my Lady Berrydail and
Androu Oliphant her Son and Heir apparent on the other
Part, wherein they refer all their Differences to Arbitration of
