Britons Hopes, or,the Tories defeated.

On the Second Reading of the REFORM BILL.

COME every loyal Briton bold,
And list to what I will unfold,
The Boroughmongers we are told,
Have nobly been defeated.

              CHORUS.

So Britons strive both day and night
And with King William boldly fight,
You shortly will obtain your rights,
The Tories are defeated.

You Britons banish all your fears,
From the Tories eyes run floods of te a,
When the King & Grey creates the Peers
The Tories will be defeated.

Stand by the men will you protect,
The Tories on their conduct may reflect,
They strove the Bill for to dissect,
But alas ! they've been defeated.

I confess the Bill looks very fine,
The Tories may lament and pine,
The majority was Glorious Nine !
So the Tories are defeated.

The Soldier he did curse and swear,
And off his nose as you shall hear,
He pulled three feet I do declare,
And cried we are defeated.

Poor old Bags has lost his purse of gold
Bobby P— was in the gutter rolled,
Weatherall has turn'd Jack Ketch we're
told,
And Old Bristol is defeated.

If I could down to Dover reach,
I would fix a gallows on the beach,
And cry the Tories dying speech,
Since they have been defeatead.

The Boroughmongers in a group,
Tothether went to buy a rope,
And they will hang themselves I hope,
Since they have been defeated.

Come William, Russell, Brougham,Grey,
Create the Peers without delay,
Send the Boroughmongers far away,
Since they have been defeated.

Let every Briton fill his glass,
We're certain now the bill must pass,
Let the Tories hang themselves alas,
They have nobly been defeated.

P— and Bags may to the d— go.
Old W—— to Waterloo,
That day they ever more will rue,
Since they have been defeated.

Let every Briton drink and sing,
And let the bells all merrily ring,
Success to Grey, God save the King,
The Tories are defeated.

                  CHORUS.

You bold Reformers like true blue.
Stand by your King with courage true,
Your troubles you will soon get through
The Tories are defeated.
