xxvi. MEMOIR.
A plain stone with the following inscription in
Gaelic, marks the present resting-place of the mortal
part of the bard and his faithful wife:—
Am Baud M a c - G i l l e a i k ,
1787-1848.'
'Fhir 's a' chkidh s' 'tha 'dol mu'n euaiit
Stad is tìsd ri guth bho 'n iiaigh s' : —
Cum a' Ghhidhlig suas ri d' bheò,
'S a cuid baiflachd 's kirde glòir ;
Do gach ni tha math thoir giàdh
'S b i 'tigh'nn beò do Dhia gach la.
