| Description | Sheet 20 of the Ordnance Survey One-inch Popular Edition of Scotland. It was issued in 1930 at a scale of 1 inch to 1 mile (1: 63,360) from a survey done between 1927 and 1928. The first Ordnance Survey of this area was done between 1868 and 1875. The sheet shows the highlands of central Wester Ross. In the top right (north east) corner, the River Shin starts its course from north to south, to be joined part way down the right side of the sheet by the River Oykell coming in from the left (west), from where it runs south and east, eventually to enter Dornoch Firth at Bonarbridge, on the east coast. Just to the south, the River Carron pursues a similar course towards Dornoch Firth. On the left (west) side of the sheet is the southern end of Loch Broom, with Loch Achall to the north, and the River Rhidorroch, and Loch an Daimh further east. On the right, the sheet stretches from Lairg, in the north, to Dalreoich in Strath Rusdale, in the south. On the left, the sheet stretches from just west of Loch Dhonnachaidh, in the north, to Loch na h Oidche, in the south. There are two sets of References, the scale statement ‘One Inch to One Statute Mile - 1/63360’, with accompanying scale bar, and two further scale bars of 1 centimetre to 1000 yards and 1 centimetre to 1 kilometre.
