      NELSON'S VICTORY

            OVER THE

    Combined Fleets of France and Spain.

YE warlike Sons of Britain bold,
who honour wiſh to gain,
Whilſt I my narrative relate.
let wonder ſeize your frame ;
The bold actions of this victory
are now my preſent theme,
'Tween the force of France and Spain,
and Nelſon on the main.

'Twas on the twenty-firſt of October,
the morning being clear,
We received the intelligence,
of the combin'd fleets being near ;
Brave NELSON, our Admiral,
gave the ſignal to purſure,
And in three hours time, my boys,
we had them all in view.

At twelve o'clock we fir'd firſt ſhot,
a broadſide their reply ;
Then ſulpher, ſmoke, and fire,
appear'd to rend the ſky :
The Britiſh ſhot were fir'd ſo hot,
ſcarce one was ſent in vain,
And hundreds of our enemies,
were by us quickly ſlain.

To behold our kill'd and wounded,
it grieved us full ſore,
