202 GREENOCK CRICKET CLUB, SEASON 1931
GREENOCK
v.
UDDINGSTON at Bothwell Policies

August 22nd, 1931.
Extract from
Greenock Telegraph of
August 24th, 1931.
" Five good catches were accepted and it was a smart piece
of work on the part of R. K. Ferguson that caused Tevendale to
be run out, the fielding and return of the ball being executed in
one movement. The Glenparkers obtained eight wickets for 45
runs, so that their opponents were in a worse plight than they
had been at a corresponding stage in their innings. An appeal
for l.b.w. resulted in a decision against Tevendale and G. P. Burt
and T. W. Watson were faced with the task of making 25 runs
between them. They put up a capable defence and held out for
a long time, though without gaining runs. A swift delivery by
Hollingdale beat Burt and put an end to the game. Hollingdale
and G. H. Tough shared Uddingston's wickets. The professional
took five for 27 and Tough four for 1S."
