GREENOCK CRICKET CLUB, SEASON 1929 189
GREENOCK v. WEST OF SCOTLAND at Glenpark—July
20th, 1929.
Extract from
Greenock Telegraph
of July 22nd, 1929.
" A great stand, however, was made by R. K. Ferguson and
R. N. Adam, which put a totally different complexion on the game.
Hitting out freely they added 113 runs before the partnership was
broken by Spalding, who nipped off Adam's bails when he had
run out too far to meet a ball from Stead. Adam's contribution
was a splendid 44.
" Ferguson who had a narrow escape early in his innings,
when he was narrowly missed at short leg, went on to score 119.
His innings which occupied one and three quarter hours, was
.nothing short of brilliant, and included 20 4 hits."
