GREENOCK
v.
WEST OF SCOTLAND at Hamilton
Crescent—May 30th, 1908.
Extract from
Greenock Telegraph
of 1st June, 1908.
"A. I.. Graham opened quietly, but Reid Kerr, who had
been batting very cautiously, opened out and cut Nixon for 4
and hit Barbour for a brace of 2's. Nixon, who was inclined to
overpitch, had a half volley sent to the leg boundary by Graham
and Kerr drove a similar ball straight for 4, while Graham hit
Barbour for 10 in one over, the cricket now being decidedly
vigourous. At 84 A. K. Tennent and Raeburn bowled, but all
the bowling came alike to the pair, and after Kerr had twice driven
Tennent for 4 in one over, Graham, with a 4 to square-leg, won
the match, Greenock having eight wickets standing. Reid Kerr
continued to hit with vigour, scoring his century in ninety minutes."
