GREENOCK v. CLYDESDALE at Glenpark—June 30th,
1888.
Extract from
Greenock Telegyaph
of July 2nd, 1888.
" They occupied the wickets till five minutes to six when the
Greenock score was topped, Bryden giving the winning hit.
Dempster was immediately afterwards bowled by McClure for 49
and Bryden by Hair for 31. Dempster's runs were got by a first
class exhibition of all-round cricket his cutting, if anything, being
prominent. All interest in the match was now gone and at the
close of time the Clydesdale had scored 133 for the loss of six
wickets. The bowling of the Greenock was far below its usual
and the fielding at times slack, two or three easy catches being
missed."
