'RMANDINE, proteaed by the charm of the Magick
Fire, has made captive many knights, Harlequin alfo is
fallen into his power, whom he detains in a dungeon, till
Coluirrbine, with whom Ormandine is deeply enamoured,
lhall confcnt to favour his addrefTes. — — Haflequin and Co-
lumbine are, by the indifcretion of the Clown, releafed
from bondage ; Harlequin is ordered by a good fpirit, who
oppofes Ormandine, to go in fe arch of a confecrated fword
and fhield, by which he will be enabled to overcome the
Serpents that guard a Fountain, whofe waters alone can at •
once extinguish the xMagick Fire, on which the power of
Ormandine entirely depends, and releafe the Knights and
Damfels whom the Enchanter holds in confinement. — The
Adventures that occur to Harlequin, during his fearch after
the fword and fhield, conftitute the A&ion of the Panto-
mime, and his finding it, overthrowing the Magician, ob-
taining the water of the Fountain, releafing the Knights,
and his beir^g finally united tojColumbine by Minerva, com-
plete the Fable,
