The Landler is a country dance which originated in Germany or the Germanic districts of Austria. It is also common in Bohemia.
The dance is an old one, but there is no definite information on record as to its first appearance. The name probably means country dance,
though some writers claim that it was derived from the district of Laudel in the valley of the River Enns in Austria.
