They toom'd their pocks' an* pawn'd their duds.
They fcarcely left to co'er their fuds,
To quench their lown drouth.
; Then owre again,, the jovial thrang t
The poet did requeft,
fo lowfe his pack an' wale a fang,
A ballad o' the bed :
He, riling, rtjoicing
Between his twa Deborahs,
L>ook3 round him, and found theoa
Impatient for the chorus.
