An' ay the wild-wood echoes rang,
Fareweel fhe braes o' Ballochmyle.
Low in your wint'ry beds, ye flowers^
Again ye'll flourifli frefh and^fair ;
Ye birdies dumb, in withering bowers,
Again ye'll charm the vocal air.
Nae joys, alas ! for me are here,
Nae pleafare find I in this foil,
Until Maria J gain appear,
