That lads fae thick come her to woo,
They're fain to fleep on hay or ftraw.

I looked ay at even for her,
For fear the fumart might devour her,
Or fome mefhanter had come o'er her,
If the beaftie bade awa\

Yet Monday laft, for a* my keeping,
F canno' fpeak it without greeting,
A villain came, when I was fleeping,
And Haw my ewie, horn and a\
The ewie, &c.
I fought her fair upo* the morn ;
And down beneath a bufs of thorn
I got my ewie's crooked horn,
But ah ! my ewie was awa\
The ewie, &c.
But an I had the lown that did it,
I've fworn and ban'd, as well as faid it,
Tho' a' the world ihou'd me forbid it,
I fhou'd gie his neck a thraw.

I never met wi' nek a turn
As this fince ever I was born,
