OR. CALEDONIAN WARDtEi{, 'ilb
A new sprung race o' motley kind;
Would now their welcome pay,
Wha shudder'd at my Gothic wa's,
And wish'd my groves away.
Cut, cut, they cried, you gloomy trees,
Lay low yon mournfu' pine ;
Ah no ! your father's names grow there
Memorials o' langsyne. Miss Mam ire,
BONNY WOOD OF CRAIGIE LEA,
Thou bonny wood of Graigie lea,
Thou bonny wood of Craigie lea,
Near thee I pass'd life's early day,
And won my Mary's heart in thee.
The broom, the brier, the birken bush,
Bloom bonny o'er the flowery lea,
And a' the sweets that ane can wish
Frae nature's hand are strew'd on thee.
Thou bonny wood, &c.
Far ben thy dark green plantings shade,
The cushat croodles am'rously,
The mavis, down thy bughted glade,
Gars echo ring frae every tree.
Thou bonny M'ood, &c.
