OR, CALEDONIAN WARBLER. 23
For O, her lanely nights are lang,
An' O, her dreams are eerie ;
An' O, her widow'd heart is sair.
That's absent frae her dearie.
When I think on the lightsome days
I spent wi' thee, my dearie,
An' now what seas between us roar,
How can I be but eerie ?
For O, &c.
How slow ye move, ye heavy hours ;
The joyless day how drearie ;
It was nae sae, ye glinted by,
When I was wi' my dearie.
For O, Szc, Burns.
ROSLIN CASTLE.
'TwAS in that season of the year.
When all things gay and sweet appear,

Arose and sung his rural lay ;
Of Nanny's charms the shepherd sung,
The hills and dales with Nanny rung,
While Iloslih Castle heard the swain,
And echo'd back the cheerful strain.
Awake, sweet Muse, the breathing spring
With rapture warms, awake and sing,
Awake and join the vocal throng.
And hail the morning with a song :
To Nanny raise the cheerful lay,
O bid her haste and come away ;
