Warbling birds the day proclaiming,
Carol sweet the lively strain,
They forsake the leafy dwelling,
To secure the golden grain.
See, content, the humble gleaner,
Take the scatter' d ears that fall,
Nature, all her children viewing,
Kindly bounteous, cares for all.
