Now they are women grown and men,
I wim and pray well may they be ;
And if you prove a good hufband,
E'en tak' your auld cloak about ye.
Bell my wife, (lie lo'es nae ftrife ;
Bat me wad guide me, if (he can,
And to maintain an eafy life,
I aft maun yield, tho' I'm gudeman
Nought's to be won at woman's hand,
Unlefs ye give her a' the plea :
Then I'll leave aiT where I began,
And tak my aald <:loak about me.
