Was tried Oct. 1746 and was sentenced to death,
but reprieved.—S.P.D., 88-42 ; P.R., 3625-21 ;
Baga, Ixix. 190.
He was taken at the surrender of Carlisle. At his
trial at York, 2nd Oct. 1746, evidence was pro¬
duced of his presence, and he was found guilty
and sentenced to death.—Scots Mag., Oct. 1746,
484. He does not appear in the execution or
transportation lists, and may have died.
‘ Servant to Mr. Comrie, a rebel Commissary ’; he
was in hospital with fever while a prisoner and
the surgeon’s fee was 4s. It is stated that he
bore arms, wore the white cockade, and seized
horses for the use of the army.—S.P.D., 89-272 ;
J.R., Stirling.
