wife, on the other hand, raised many of the clan,
the M‘Beans and the M‘Gillivrays,for the Prince,
and put Alexander M'Gillivray or Dunmaglass
to command them. Through her vigilance the
Prince escaped capture at her house at Moy on
16th Feb. 1746. She was arrested after Cul-
loden, and taken to Inverness, but was released
six weeks later through her husband’s influence.

‘ was a Lieut.-Col. and enlisted many men.’ He
was included in the first Bill of Attainder.—
