EXAMINATIONS OF PERSONS UNDER SPIRITUAL CONCERN II
my Soul. A minister (38)10 coming & Speaking to me. I turn’d some calmer
& more composd.
Next Sabbath I fell under great darkness & fears about my own condition:
but on Munday morning when I was at Secret Prayer, these words in Isai.41.16.
came into my heart with great Power & Sweetness, Thou Shalt rejoice in the
Lord, and Shalt glory in the Holy One of Israel, and made indeed greatly
to rejoice in God in Christ & to glory & triumph in him, but with fear &
reverence. And I was then made to accept of the Lord Jesus Christ, as my
Redeemer & Saviour & to accept of [ ]11 him in all his Offices of Grace as
my Prophet Priest & King & to give up my Self to him to be Saved by him
in His own way.
