BALCARRES PAPERS
as he said, he intended to catch the post to arrive at Dover that morning
and set sail to arrive the same day at Boulogne. On his journey down
the river he wished to visit the King at Greenwich, who has been there
with his Council for a week. M. d’Aumale was well received by them.
The writer will not go into detail as to the good reception the Duke has
had, beyond saying that he is well pleased with it. He has written to
MM. de Thermes and d’Oysel of the difficulties which the Council are
making about the horses which the French in Scotland wish to take
back. He will write to the Queen all news worthy of her consideration.
Written from London on the 13th June.
