To the bishop of Sodor. Mandate to dispense Laclan Nigel Fyngoni,
layman, to marry the woman Anne, Sodor diocese, notwithstanding
their being related in the third and fourth degrees of consanguinity;
and who had carnally known each other on several occasions from
which a child had been born who by this mandate is declared to be
legitimate, and any children bom in the future are also to be
legitimate.

To the prioress and convent of the monastery of Elcho, o.cist.
Confirmation of the monastery’s possession of the places and villages
of Elcho, Kynhard, Benyn, and Standartlandis, the church of Dun,
St Andrews diocese, and the teinds of meadows, fisheries and woods,
and of other woods and places belonging to the monastery.

To the abbot of Arbroath. Mandate to summon and examine
Thomas de Merton, canon of Brechin, on charges brought against
him by Thomas Lyel, canon of Ross, to the effect that the said
Thomas Merton is known to be a notorious schismatic and adherent
of Oddo Colonna calling himself Martin v; and if the charges are
proven he is to be deprived of his canonry of Brechin and the pre¬
bend commonly called ‘pensionary’ of Brechin.1

noble birth, canon of Ross, to a canonry and prebend of Brechin,
value not exceeding -£6 sterling to a non-resident, to be vacant if
Thomas de Merton is deprived of the same as a result of charges
