To Alexander de Faukyrk, canon of the monastery of Cambus-
kenneth, osa,b.theol. Indult dispensing Alexander of his defect of
birth as the son of an unmarried man and an unmarried woman, to
be promoted to all sacred orders, to retain his degree and to obtain
others, and to hold any benefice with or without cure wont to be
ruled by a canon of the said monastery even if a major or principal
dignity in a cathedral or a collegiate church or a parsonage, office
or priory.

To Donald de Maknachtan, treasurer of Dunkeld. Mandate to col¬
late after examination John Paniter, perpetual vicar of the parish
church of Abirbrothoc, St Andrews diocese, to the parish church of
Glammis, said diocese, value not exceeding 30 merks old sterling,
vacant by the death outside the curia of John Oliverei, late vicar.
On the death of John Oliverei, as Walter, abbot of Arbroath, osb,
to whom the presentation pertained, was then travelling in remote
parts, Robert Boner, claustral prior and the convent of Arbroath had
presented John Paniter to Henry, bishop of St Andrews, within the
lawful time; but Henry refused to admit the presentation stating
that William de Carnis by virtue of papal letters had claimed the
said church. But it was later shown that at the time of William’s
acceptance he had been excommunicated for biting and injuring
the finger of a certain John Ligart, priest and canon of St Andrews,
and therefore the church was still vacant. William is to be sum¬
moned and examined; and if this is proven then John, in deacons
orders, is to be collated to the said church, notwithstanding that
