of the parish church of Stramiglo, Dunkeld diocese, b.dec., to the
canonry, prebend and precentorship thus vacant, notwithstanding
that he is known to hold the said parish church which he is dispensed
to retain; provided the resignation has not been brought about by
fraud, simony or any other corrupt method.

providing William to a canonry and prebend of Moray given on
2 Id. Jul., anno 14 [14 July, 1408], in which no mention had been
made of an accidental homicide, from which he had been dispensed
to make no future mention, as if full mention of it had been made in
the said letters of provision.

To the abbot of Balmerino, the archdeacon and the official of St
Andrews. Mandate to collate William Stephani, canon of Moray,
b.dec., to the deanery of the church of Dunbar, St Andrews diocese,
a non-elective principal dignity in lay patronage value not exceeding
^40 Scots to a non-resident, vacant because Thomas de Merton,
former dean, had held it along with the parish church of Kirkmichael,
Glasgow diocese, for more than five years without a papal dispensa¬
tion against John xxu’s bull Execrabilis; notwithstanding that
William is known to hold a canonry of Moray and the prebend of
Ryny, the parish church of Essy, and the hospital of Edenham wont
to be assigned as a perpetual benefice, St Andrews diocese, worth
together ^40 to a non-resident, in any of the churches or in the
hospital; but on obtaining peaceful possession of the deanery he is
held to demit the parish church of Essy.
