priest, student of canon law for several years, to a canonry, prebend
and the deanery of Ross, an elective major dignity with cure, as a
reserved benefice, value not exceeding £10 sterling at the present
to a non-resident, vacant by the promotion of John, former dean,
to the bishopric of Moray; notwithstanding that William is known
to hold another canonry and prebend and the precentorship of Ross
which, however, on his peaceful assecution to the above canonry,
prebend and deanery he is held to demit.2
