wishing to exchange their respective benefices outside the curia had
resigned Tanadas, Kilquhonquhar and the canonry and prebend of
Glasgow into the hands of Henry, bishop of St Andrews and the
canonry and prebend of the Blessed Mary of St Andrews into the
hands of Robert, provost of the said church. Henry and the provost
had admitted the resignations by ordinary authority, and Henry with
special permission from Mathew, bishop of Glasgow, had provided
by the same authority William to Kilquhonquhar and to the canonry
and prebend of Glasgow, and Malcolm to Tanadas, and the provost,
to whom the provision to the canonry and prebend of the Blessed
Mary pertained, had provided William by the same ordinary
authority to the said canonry and prebend. Subsequently William
holding the canonry and prebend of the Blessed Mary of St Andrews
and the church of Kilquhonquhar, and Thomas de Mathzane hold¬
ing the parish church of Dunlop, Glasgow diocese, wishing to ex¬
change these benefices had resigned them into the hands of. . ..1 The
bishop of Glasgow had admitted the resignation of Dunlop outside
the curia by ordinary authority and by the same authority had pro¬
vided Thomas to Kilquhonquhar and the provost of St Andrews
had provided him to the canonry and prebend. William, however,
had doubted the validity of his collation and provision to the canonry
of Glasgow, the prebend of Edelston and to the vicarage of Dunlop
and he therefore sought confirmation of his rights in these benefices,
which is granted as above, whether vacant as above, or in any other
way, even if at the time of the first exchange Malcolm was a papal
chaplain and the provision to his benefices therefore should have
devolved to the pope.

of St Andrews, Grenoble. Mandate to collate John Stewart, canon
of Glasgow, lic.dec., and kinsman of Robert, king of Scots, to the
sub-deanery of Glasgow, a non-elective office with cure of souls, value
not exceeding ^70 old sterling. It had been decreed that the provision
