choose a suitable and discreet priest as his confessor in mortis articulo.1

To the bishop of Sodor. Mandate to dispense the nobleman Lachlan
Macgilleon, doncel, to marry Anna, daughter of the nobleman,
William Macleord, doncel, Sodor diocese, notwithstanding their
being related in the third degree of consanguinity, and that Anna
was betrothed successively to the nobleman Roderic Macleord,
who was related to Lachlan in the second degree of consanguinity,
and to the late Nigel Macgilleon, kinsman of Lachlan, in order to
prevent dissension and unrest in the lands of the nobleman, Donald,
lord of the Isles, whose subjects they are. On the marriage Lachlan
and Anna are held to pay a sum of money at the discretion of the
mandatory to the building fund of the monastery of Hy which has
collapsed.

visitors to the church of St Mary in Barwas in the isle of Lewis,
Sodor diocese, on certain feast days [named] and those who con¬
tribute to its reparation.
