LETTERS OF POPE BENEDICT XIII

To John Forestar, canon of Glasgow, lic.dec., m.a. Provision of
John, recently sent to the curia by Robert, king of Scots, to a
canonry of Glasgow with expectation of a prebend vacant at present
or to be vacant, provided it is not a major or principal dignity in
a cathedral or collegiate church, notwithstanding that he is known
to hold a canonry and prebend of Aberdeen and the parish church
of Strabrok, St Andrews diocese, which, however, on his peaceful
assecution to a prebend as above he is held to demit.

To Henry de Wardlau, canon of Aberdeen. Provision of Henry
of noble birth, Lie.art., nephew of Walter, late cardinal-priest,
to a canonry of Aberdeen with expectation of a prebend vacant on
2 Id. Apr. [12 Apr.], 1396, or thereafter, provided it is not a major
or principal dignity in a cathedral or collegiate church, notwith¬
standing that he is known to hold the parish church of Caverys,
Glasgow diocese, and a canonry, prebend and the precentorship of
Glasgow, a dignity with cure, and that he has lately been provided
to a canonry and prebend of Moray; and Henry is dispensed to
retain the precentorship and parish church along with any prebend
obtained as above, but within two years of his peaceful assecution
to such a prebend he is held to exchange it for a benefice compatible
with the precentorship and parish church, otherwise at the end of
the two years he is held to demit the said prebend.
