Capt. R. A, Robertson,
2 3rd Queen Alexandra's Own Gurkha Rifles.
Capt. Robertson joined the Indian Army Reserve of
Officers in February, 1915, and was attached to the
I 3rd Q.A.O. Gurkha Rifles. He served with this
regiment in France from July to November, 1915,
and thereafter in Egypt and Palestine, being wounded
at the Battle of Gaza, 13th November, 1917. Capt.
Robertson was twice mentioned in despatches.

31st Duke of Connaught's Own Lancers (Indian Army).
Lieut. Shuttleworth joined the Sind Volunteer Rifles
in 1915, but transferred in November, 1916, to the
Indian Army Reserve of Officers, and was attached
to the 31st Lancers who were then at Kohat, N.W.F.P.
In January, 1917, the regiment was transferred to
Bannu, N.W.F.P., and became part of the Waziristan
Field Force, operating against the Mahsuds. In
October of that year they proceeded to Mesopotamia
and became part of the 11th Cavalry Brigade, and
during 1918 were at Nedjef (January-February),
Euphrates, Hit, Khan Baghdadi, Anah (March- April).
In July, 1918, Lieut. Shuttleworth entered hospital
at Baghdad suffering from malarial fever. In Sep-
tember he was transferred to Bombay, and in Decem-
ber was invalided to England. He was promoted
Lieutenant on 13th November, 1917.
