Royal Engineers.
1915. — Appointed Captain Indian Army Reserve of
Officers and posted to 26th Punjabis Miranshah,
Tochi, N.W.P. Proceeded to Mesopotamia with
the Regiment and took part in the unsuccessful Kut
Relief operations.
1916. — Placed in command of all trans frontier men
withdrawn from Mesopotamia Front. Transferred
to East Africa and attached to 40th Pathans as a
reinforcement, and served in British East, German
East, and Portuguese East Africa.
1917-18. — On return of Indian Troops given a Staff
appointment in E.A. and transferred to I.W.T.R.E.,
and demobilised 24th July, 1919.
