* Byres, William Stewart, 1916. L.-Corporal, The Black Watch.
* Caie, John Myles, 1913, M.C. L.-Corporal, Sec. Lieut., Seaforth
Highlanders, attd. 4th North Lancashire Regiment.
The Military Cross was awarded to T/2nd Lieutenant John Myles Caie,
attd. N. Lanes. Regt. (l/4th Bn. T.F.). For conspicuous gallantry and good
leadership, near La Bassee, on 30th September 1918.
When his platoon was held up by an enemy machine-gun in a pill-box, and
the attack was checked, he collected some men, and rushing forward captured
the machine-gun and crew of six. He did fine work.

Scottish Women's Hospital, Serbia. Decorated with the Order
of St. Sava, 5th Class (Serbia), the Serbian War Medical Service
Medal, and the Medal of the Serbian Red Cross Society.
