CAPTAIN CHARLES RONALD RITCHIE, 20 Hill Street, Edinburgh.
Received Commission as 2nd Lieutenant Lowland Mounted Brigade
Royal Army Service Corps on 25th September 1914, and served in this
country until 5th May 1917. Promoted Captain 26th June 1915,
and served abroad with the British Salonica Force until 5th May 1919.
Twice mentioned in Dispatches, and awarded Greek Order of the
Redeemer and Greek Medal of Military Merit.
LIEUTENANT MATTHEW FREER RODGER, Rossland, Helensburgh.
Received Commission as 2nd Lieutenant 3rd Scottish Rifles September 1914.
Transferred 4th Scottish Rifles 1915 and attached 2nd Scottish Rifles in
France. Promoted Lieutenant. Served in France from May 1915 to October
1916. Killed in action at Battle of the Somme on 23rd October 1916.
CAPTAIN GEORGE ARCHER RUSK, M.C. (Apprentice.)
Received Commission in gth Royal Highlanders (Black Watch) September
1914. Served in this country until July 1915. Left for France in July.
Promoted Captain. Took part in Battle of Loos September 1915. Gassed
April 1916. Wounded June 1916. Thereafter attached to 3rd Black Watch
at Nigg. Left for Salonica March 1917 with 10th Black Watch. Present
at Battle of Varder River. Proceeded to France June 1918. With 1st Black
Watch at Massigny and Mons Canal. Thereafter served in Germany and
granted permanent Commission. Awarded Military Cross and mentioned
in Dispatches.
LIEUTENANT ANDREW HAMILTON SCOTT, Dalkeith Park, Dalkeith.
Cadet Edinburgh O.T.C. from March to July 1916, when transferred
to Officers' Cadet Battalion at Bristol. Received Commission as 2nd
Lieutenant 4th King's Own Scottish Borderers in November 1916.
Went to France and attached to 6th King's Own Scottish Borderers
in January 1917, and reported missing on 3rd May 1917. Presumed
killed in action.
MAJOR JOHN MENZIES BAILLIE SCOTT, Radcot, Colinton, Midlothian.
Mobilised as Lieutenant with Royal Field Artillery (T.F.) in August
1914. Promoted Captain and Adjutant in April 1915 and went to France
in October 1915. Was wounded and returned to this country in October
1917. Promoted Major. Mentioned in Dispatches.
