LIEUTENANT JAMES MOIR MACKENZIE, 26 Kingsburgh Road,
Edinburgh.
Received Commission as Temporary Sub-Lieutenant R.N.V.R. in October
1914. Was Adjutant of the 4th Batt. R.N.D., Crystal Palace, from October
1914 till April 1916. Granted permanent Commission R.N.V.R. From
April 1916 till January 1919 served as Assistant Gunnery Officer and
Watchkeeper on H.M.S. "Loyal" (1916-17), H.M.S. "Tempest" (1917-18),
and H.M.S. "Shakespeare" (1918-19). Promoted Lieutenant.
CAPTAIN KENNETH MACKENZIE of Dolphinton, and 20 Ainslie Place,
Edinburgh.
Received Commission as Lieutenant 2/gth Royal Scots October 1914.
Promoted Captain 1915. Afterwards attached to 7th Royal Scots. When
stationed at Leith Docks received Medal for saving, at great personal risk,
a man who had fallen in. Went to France in March 1918 and was killed
in action between Heninel and Fontaine les Croisilles on 27th August 1918.
CAPTAIN JOHN MACKINTOSH, Bank House, Hopeman, Morayshire. (Ap-
prentice.)
Received Commission as 2nd Lieutenant 6th Seaforth Highlanders in
September 1914. Latterly Captain. Trained recruits in this country until
June 1917. Thereafter went to France. Was wounded in November 1917
at Flesquieres, whence sent to England. Returned to France in April 1918,
and was killed on 23rd July of that year at St Imoges on the Rheims.
Twice mentioned in Dispatches.
CAPTAIN CHARLES FELLOWES MONCRIEFFE MACLACHLAN,
71 George Street, Edinburgh.
Enlisted in 16th Royal Scots December 1914. Obtained Commission as
2nd Lieutenant in nth Gordon Highlanders March 1915. Posted 9th
Gordon Highlanders, B.E.F., October 1915. Served in France from
October 1915 to March 1918. Adjutant August 1916 to March 1918.
Attached 1/1 Highland Cyclist Battalion April 1918. In Ireland April 1918
to March 1919. Acting Adjutant. 1914-15 Star. Mentioned in Dispatches.
LIEUTENANT DUNCAN MACNAUGHTON, Dundurawe, Arboretum Road,
Edinburgh.
Mobilised as Private with 9th Royal Scots in August 1914. Received Com-
mission as Lieutenant 3rd Gordon Highlanders in January 1915. Went to
Belgium (Ypres Section) in March 1915 and was wounded in August of that
year, and returned to this country. Was placed on retired list in January
1917 in consequence of wounds.
