GEORGE LORIMER, 22 Rutland Square, Edinburgh.
Enlisted in Royal Garrison Artillery in September 1916. After ten months
on Coast Defence went to France and served there and in Belgium for
eighteen months.
CAPTAIN JAMES BANNERMAN LORIMER, 9 Gloucester Place, Edinburgh.
Enlisted in gth Royal Scots in August 1914. Promoted Lieutenant 8th
Cameron Highlanders in December 1914. Received Captaincy February
1916. Served in this country from August 1914 until August 1916. Went
to France attached to 5th Cameron Highlanders. Posted missing.
Presumed killed at Battle of Roeux near Arras on 3rd May 1917.
LIEUTENANT JOHN DONALDSON LOWNIE, 7 Admiral Terrace,
Edinburgh.
Received Commission as 2nd Lieutenant the Royal Scots in July 1915.
Seconded to Machine-Gun Corps October 1916. Served in France from
February till June 1917. Wounded while serving with the Machine-Gun
Corps at Messines Ridge. Served at home from June 1917 onwards.
Promoted 1st Lieutenant February 1917.
LIEUTENANT JOHN HUGH LOWSON, 9 Great Stuart Street, Edinburgh.
Received Commission 25th August 1914 12th Royal Scots. Served in that
Battalion in France. Appointed Divisional Instructor Bombs and Gas for
gth Division. Transferred to R.F.C. 26th August 1916. Wounded and
captured 27th September 1916. Repatriated 28th December 1918.
LIEUT-COLONEL DAVID LYELL, V.D., 39 Castle Street, Edinburgh.
Appointed Secretary of Midlothian, Linlithgow, and Peebles Territorial
Force Associations 14th January 1915. Relieved of his duties 30th June
1919. Twice mentioned in Dispatches.
LIEUTENANT ALFRED CHARLES MACAULAY, 13 Melville Street,
Edinburgh. (Apprentice.)
Enlisted in Royal Air Force 24th September 1917. Received Commission
7th February 1918. Joined 43rd Squadron as Flying Officer and served in
France until 4th August 1918. Demobilised 5th February igig.
