MAJOR CHARLES ANDERSON, D.S.O., M.C., Glenburn Hall, Jedburgh.
Enlisted as Trooper in ist Lovat Scouts September 1914. Received
Commission in 15th Royal Scots January 1915. Served in France and
Belgium from January 1916 to February 1919. Awarded D.S.O. and M.C.
Mentioned in Dispatches.
LIEUTENANT ROBERT BALLANTINE ANDERSON, Glenburn Hall, Jedburgh.
Enlisted as Trooper in ist Lovat Scouts September 1914. Received
Commission King's Own Scottish Borderers January 1915. Served in
Gallipoli July 1915 till evacuation. Thereafter in Egypt and Palestine.
Killed in action on 19th April 1917, at Gaza, Palestine.

Gazetted 2nd Lieutenant 141st Heavy Battery Royal Garrison Artillery
January 1918. Served in France until date of demobilisation.

Charlotte Square, Edinburgh.
Received Commission as 2nd Lieutenant Scottish Horse August 1914.
Promoted Captain October 1914 and Staff Captain in 1915. Attached
to 3rd Echelon G.H.Q., France, 1916-17. War Office 1917. Assistant
Secretary Ministry of National Service 1917-18. Awarded O.B.E.
(Military Division) 1919.
LIEUTENANT JOHN MACKINTOSH BELL, Mansfield, Moffat.
Received Commission as 2nd Lieutenant 5th King's Own Scottish Borderers
on 10th September 1915. Thereafter promoted Lieutenant. Served at
home until 8th March 1919.
LIEUT.-COLONEL LEWIS LEONARD BILTON, C.M.G., 17 Rutland
Street, Edinburgh.
Received Commission as 2nd Lieutenant Army Service Corps September
1914. Posted to 17th Battalion The Royal Scots, of which Second in
command. Transferred to 2/8th Battalion The Worcestershire Regiment,
which he commanded from July 1916. Temporary command of Brigade
January-March 1918. Served abroad from August 1915 to June 1918.
Promoted Lieut.-Colonel. Instructor at Senior Officers' School Aldershot
July 1918. Awarded C.M.G. Croix de Guerre Belgique. Twice
mentioned in Dispatches.
