ROYAL FIELD ARTILLERY.
Order of the British Empire.
MacRory, Lieutenant Adam John Charles. Member of the Military Division.
Gaz. 9/12/19.
Distinguished Service Order.
Macdonald, Major Donald Ramsay, M.C. Gaz. 26/7/18.
For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty. On various occasions
he was the last to withdraw his battery, and his handling of a sub-group
placed under his command enabled the infantry to prolong the defence by
many hours. His courage and skill were admirable.
MacDonald, Captain (A/Major) Harold Symes. Gaz. 28/12/17.
Macdonald, Lieutenant (A/Major) James Alexander. Gaz. 3/6/18.
M'Connel, Captain (Acting Major) Douglas Fitzgerald. Gaz. 1/6/17.
Military Cross.
Donald, 2nd Lieutenant William. Gaz. 25/5/17.
For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty. At great personal risk
he extinguished a fire which broke out in an ammunition dump, thereby
undoubtedly preventing a serious explosion. He has on many previous
occasions done fine work.
M'Alister, T. /Captain David M'Donald. (D/ 152nd Brigade). Gaz. 30/5/19.
M'Connell, T. /Lieutenant (Local Captain) Primrose. Gaz. 3/6/18.
Macdonald, Captain D. R. Gaz. 1/1/15.
Macdonald, T. /Lieutenant (Acting Captain) Edgar. Gaz. 1/6/17.
MacDonald, Lieutenant Eric. (D./ 123rd Brigade). Gaz. 10/1/19.
For conspicuous gallantry and able leadership in getting his guns into
action under heavy shell fire in a position saturated with gas, and main-
taining it in action for some hours, although half his personnel were
wounded. A few nights later when a dug-out was blown up by a shell
and five men buried, he succeeded in spite of intense shell fire in rescuing
three of the buried men alive. His example imbued others with the same
spirit of determination.
Macdonald, 2nd Lieutenant George. (Attached 110th Brigade). Gaz. 31/12/18.
Macdonald, Captain Harold Symes. Gaz. 1/1/17.
Macdonald, Lieutenant Ian Farquharson. (Special Reserve). Gaz. 15/2/18.
For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty. During an enemy
attack he went forward and established communication with the Infantry
when all wires had been cut, and sent back valuable information to the
battery throughout the day. He showed great courage and resource.
Macdonald, Captain (Acting Major) James. (Attached B/187th Brigade).
Gaz. 31/12/18.
MacDonald, Lieutenant (A. /Major) James Alexander, D.S.O. (Attached D/123rd
Brigade). Gaz. 10/12/19.
For conspicuous gallantry and initiative on the 23rd October, 1918, near
Beaurain when his brigade was ordered to advance as soon as possible
after the Infantry and come into action on their first objective. He
pushed forward directly after the attack was launched and selected his
battery positions under heavy shell and machine gun fire, sending back
most valuable information. Although wounded and suffering from gas
when reconnoitring he refused to go to a dressing station, but fought
his battery throughout the day.
