Nov. 20, 1297. ..."
Nov. 20, 1298. York, directing him to make Purv^eyances in his Bailywick
of Corn, Ale, and other Provisions and Necessaries, and to
cause the same to be transported to Berwick-upon-Tweed,
for the furtherance of the Scottish War.
Together with the same are preserved concurrent Indentures of
Receipt and Delivery.
These form nine separate Documents, in a portfolio.

TITLE,
"Oictualia lifaerata Domino COaltero De Jpuntercombe,*
custoDi Ca0ti-i Dc CDinburgij, pro munitione ejusDem casitri ;
per mantis KicarDi De CKLlarDington, clerici, anno regni regiief
(ZBDtoarDi rrDi."
* The custody of the Castio of Edinburgh, and the Sheriffdoms of Edinburgh,
Linlithgow, and Haddington, was entrusted to Walter de Huntercomb, by writ, dated
5th Oct. 1296 ; which see in Rot. Scot., I. 36.
