178 EDINBURGHSHIRE.
" The Lord did heal the parents' hearts
Of those two little brothers ;
When Death cut down these little flow^ers,
God did their anguish smother.
" Dear parents, weep no more for us,
Nor breathe another sigh ;
For God required our souls above.
In our home beyond the sky."
" Our parents' grief no tongue can speak,
Nor yet no one can tell ;
But rest yourselves content on earth,
While we in heaven do dwell.
" And comfort your poor drooping hearts,
And mind your steps full well ;
For we in heaven may meet again.
And there with Christ will dwell."
Three loving sisters lyeth here,
Betsey, Mary, and Ann :
But death severe soon
Our parents' grief began.
Our parents nursed us tenderly
While on the earth we stayed ;
But God was pleased to call us here.
So in the grave we're laid.
Dear father, weep no more for us ;
Dear mother, grief forbear ;
For while on earth you've leave,
We're only sleeping here."
